Yalda Night

21 December 2023 – Berlin  

This year we had the opportunity to celebrate Yalda night in Berlin together with a diverse group of refugee and cultural organizations, academia, authors, poets, and musician as well as people interested in Persian-speaking countries. 

The coordination body was comprised of the following organizations: 

Bakhtar Institute e.V  

Afghanische Kulturles Haus e.V 

Internationaler Kulturverein Nowruz e.V (in der Gründung)  

Afghanische Frauenverein Mah e.V 

Avah-e-Honar musician group  

For Yalda Night a diverse program was arranged including: 

• Cultural and artistic discourse  

• Joint music from Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan

• poetry

• Hafiz poetry  

• Central Asia music (Cheltan Music group) 

• parallel programs including photo and handcraft exhibition, art workshop for children and traditional and local food 

The program was held at Ulme Interkulturelle Ansallten and provided the space for exchange, networking, and storytelling.
