Afghan Diaspora and Fragmented Responsibilities. This was the title of the annual conference held by the Afghanistan Forum in East Germany on November 4, 2023, in Leipzig.

This conference focused on coordination, solidarity and the obstacles and opportunities of Afghan diaspora organizations. This conference included two panel discussion  and a cultural event and about a hundred immigrants and refugees participated in this program.

In the first panel, the narratives and stories of different generations of Afghan immigrants and diaspora were discussed, while in the second panel, where representatives of civil society organizations were invited, the representative of Bakhtar Institute while introducing the institute elaborate the term “diaspora” and analyzed diaspora organizations in Germany. The representatives of the Afghan diaspora associations in Germany emphasized on institutional and structural activities for the Afghan diaspora in the host country. Nearly half a million citizens from Afghanistan live in Germany, but their activities are scattered and there is no solidarity among the Afghan diasporas.

The conference ended with a cultural dinner with young artists and musicians.
