Najla Zamani

Co-founder and Deputy Director

A Journalist, Public Relations Expert, and women rights advocate, Mrs. Najla Zamani has a Master’s of Literature and Dari from Afghanistan’s Kabul University and a Bachelor’s in the same major from Iran’s Varamin-Pishva University.

During her journalistic career, Ms. Zamani has been the Editor for the Irshad-ul Naswan Newspaper as well as the Mirnum magazine. Mrs. Zamani’s civil service career includes Manager of Public Relations and Communication in the Ministry of Women Affairs, and later as the Communication Consultant for the Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Service Commission of Afghanistan. In recent years in Germany, Ms. Zamani has been working as a Writer for Banu Magazine and served the Diakonie organization as a Linguistic expert. Ms. Zamani is a well-known activist for Afghan women’s rights and has conducted several campaigns in support of women and civil service rights for Afghan women. In addition to Dari, Ms. Zamani speaks English, German, and Arabic.
