Abdul Qayoom Qaeem

Member of the Board, Research & Knowledge Transfer Team

A PhD Candidate, Mr. Qaeem is a lecturer at the Economics and Management Faculty of Herat University. He has done his undergraduate studies in Business Administration at Herat University and got his Master’s degree in Economics and Management from Ruhr University of Bochum, Germany, where he is currently working on his Ph.D. project.

His teaching and research focuses on Statistics and Econometrics. Mr. Qaeem has participated in several short-term programs on Statistics and Research in India, Malaysia, Germany, and Italy. In addition to teaching, he has worked in several managerial positions of Herat University including the Acting Dean of the Faculty, the Associate Dean of the Faculty, and the Head of Department. Moreover,Mr. Qaeem has been a member of Herat University and EMF Research Center; a member of the MBA Program Board – that established and launched the MBA program at Herat University; and a member of the Herat Associate Degree Steering Board – that established and launched Business Administration Community College at Herat University. Mr. Qaeem has been a trainer in several programs such as OBE-SEL (Outcome Based Education and Student-Centered Learning) for university lecturers, the Afghanistan Workforce Development program (USAID project for training of job seekers in the private sector), and the Business Administration Training Program (for job seekers in the private sector).

In addition to Dari and Pashto, Mr. Qaeem speaks English; and has good commands of German.
