Career Counseling Center for migrants and refugees in Berlin 

The career and educational counseling program of Bakhtar Institute takes place weekly in Berlin. This program supports various layers of refugees, migrants, and newcomers, including academics, researchers, scholars, university professors, skilled and low skilled workers in Berlin. The program enables the target group in the following ways: 

  1. To develop a job perspective relevant to the field of his/her study.
  1.  Establish network and ensure relationships with relevant institutions, career counseling centers, and companies.  
  1. To support in developing job application and supplementary documents.  
  1. To help applicant in recognition of qualifications.

The program includes individual counseling and workshop explained below:

  • Individual Counseling: Through individual counseling the Job coach assess the various aspects of applicant’s professional life and learn biography and enable him/her to make a profile by analyzing the qualifications, work experience, voluntary jobs, competence, skills, and Hobbies. When everything is analyzed, the coach supports the applicant to develop job application and make an application folder. Eventually searching for relevant jobs and submitting applications and follow it up. 
  • Workshop: Unlocking Opportunities: Career paths for Afghan Academics and skilled workers in Berlin.

This initiative is part of BI mentoring program which takes place weekly in Berlin. The workshop concentrates mainly on the following topics:

  1. Job orientation and relevant jobs to applicant’s field of study.
  2. Demonstrate the core points in job application.
  3. Steps and ways of qualifications recognition.  
  4. Introducing free migrants’ consultation centers in Berlin
  5. Enable regional, national and EU level Job portals.

The main purpose of this program is to facilitate quick integration of migrants, refugees, and evacuees into first job-market in Berlin.  

The program is organized by the certified job coach and volunteer team of the institute. Participation to the workshop is free of charge and on volunteer basis.

Time: Friday from 16:00 to 18:00.
